Role Overview:

One of the World’s largest real estate companies is searching for a CEO for its South African Business.

The CEO will provide visionary leadership to drive the company’s strategic growth, operational excellence and local success. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong business acumen and an understanding of the property and estate agency industry in South Africa. The CEO will be responsible for overseeing the company’s Executive Management and day to day operations, developing and executing marketing strategies to expand brand presence, and evaluating franchise applications to ensure alignment with the company’s standards and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan to achieve growth and profitability.
  • Ensure the company’s vision, mission, and values are consistently communicated and upheld across all levels.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in the South African property market.
  • Attend Master Franchisor’s global events and use insights in formulating a local strategy.

 

  1. Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure the company functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage and mentor senior management to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Master Franchise Agreement terms and conditions.

 

  1. Marketing & Brand Development:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and market share.
  • Oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, print, and social media.
  • Collaborate with the Master Franchisor’s marketing team to innovate and leverage emerging trends in the property market.
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with global marketing standards.

 

  1. Franchise Management:
  • Vet and approve franchise applications, ensuring alignment with company’s brand and operational standards.
  • Support franchisees with business development strategies and operational guidance to drive their success.
  • Monitor and evaluate franchise performance, providing support and intervention where necessary.
  • Maintain the Franchisee recognition programme and arrange an annual awards event.

 

  1. Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for geographic and service line expansion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and community leaders.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and media engagements to promote the company’s brand and vision.

 

  1. Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the annual budget to ensure financial health and sustainability.
  • Oversee financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Monitor performance of franchisees against contractual targets.
  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors and the Master Franchisor on financial and operational performance.

 

  1. Governance & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all business activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct.
  • Lead risk management initiatives to protect the company’s assets and reputation.

 

  1. Human Capital Management:
  • Foster a high performance culture by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the company’s values.
  • Implement leadership development and succession planning initiatives to ensure organizational continuity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant degree or tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably within the property or estate agency sector.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, business development, and marketing.
  • Experience in franchising and understanding of the South African property market.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial management.
