Introduction

A well-established solar company based in Honeydew, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to contribute to a growing industry leader.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive sales efforts in the commercial and industrial solar sectors, ensuring successful deal closure.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed company revenue targets, focusing on megawatt peak growth.
  • Provide technical guidance to the sales team and clients, ensuring accurate and effective communication of solar system capabilities.
  • Manage solar financing solutions, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), leases, and rent-to-own models, to meet customer needs and optimize deal structures.
  • Mentor and upskill the sales team, enhancing their product knowledge and sales techniques to improve overall team performance.
  • Monitor and manage the sales pipeline, tracking progress, forecasts, and results to align with company goals.
  • Prepare and present detailed monthly reports to the CEO, including performance metrics, market trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive long-term business growth.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to keep the company ahead in the solar market.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including technical, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Must have a proven track record of success in the commercial and industrial solar sector.
  • Must have 3 – 5 years of Sales or Business Development experience in the Solar Renewable energy sector of which 3 years must be managerial experience – Ability to lead a team of sales staff.
  • Strong performance history, demonstrated by closed deals with references and measurable megawatt peak achievements.
  • Solid technical expertise in solar energy systems.
  • In-depth understanding of solar financing options, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), leases, and rent-to-own models.
  • Ability to mentor, support, and manage the existing sales team, fostering skill development.
  • Capable of preparing and presenting comprehensive monthly reports to the CEO
