Forklift Technician

Opportunity to join an independently owned company based in South Africa. We are an equipment rental and sales company offering a range of scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers and cherry pickers. We have extensive experience in the powered access industry and have worked and advised on a great variety of projects. Powered access equipment is designed to enable people to work safely, productively and comfortably at height. It can be used in a comprehensive range of applications, both inside and outside buildings and structures. Our hire team are always available to offer friendly advice and guidance either by phone or on site.  Our passion is to provide our customers with the right equipment for the right height at the right price.

Working hours:  07h30 – 16h45

DUTIES:

• Repair and maintain forklifts and cranes
• Interpret manufacturers manuals
• Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
• Diagnose and repair mast and attachment components
• Ensure equipment remains safe and operational
• Conducting part inventories
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks
• Receiving forklift service requests
• Documenting service performed
• Ordering additional specialty and forklift parts once approved

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) certificate
• Prior relevant working experience – minimum of 3 years experience
• Good team player
• Good communication skills in English
• Hard working
