Our client, a leader in the Financial Services sector, based in Cape Town, Western Cape; is currently looking to employ an experienced Business Director to their dynmic team.

The overall responsibility will be to execute the broader strategy of the business in the Western Cape region, which includes growth, maintenance, and development of the advisory partnership in which the prospective candidate will carry proprietary rights albeit that execution of the strategy is in pursuance and aligned with the broader strategy of the business.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in managing of distribution channels in financial services.
  • Previous experience in managing financial advisors will be an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Regional Business Head for a financial services provider will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Western Cape network and financial services environment will be an advantage.
  • Previous P&L responsibility will be an advantage.
  • Tertiary Degree is a pre -requisite.
  • B Bus Science or B Comm is preferable, and CFA/CFP is an advantage.
  • A fundamental understanding of the financial services advisory landscape.
  • A fundamental knowledge of FAIS.
  • A general understanding of financial markets.
  • Informed on current events.

 
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

  • The overall responsibility will be to execute the broader strategy of the business in the Western Cape region.
  • A component of the role pertains to the growth, maintenance, and development of the advisory partnership in which the prospective candidate will carry proprietary rights albeit that execution of the strategy is in pursuance and aligned with the broader strategy of the business.
  • Regional Office Management – including cost management and profitability of the broader business with a particular focus on the profitability of the Advisory Partnership.
  • Regional People Management – including management of Staff development, coaching and training.
  • Technical Support Allocation – including training and accreditation to run practices more efficiently.
  • Advisor Acquisition – proactive acquisition of quality advisor practices with a particular emphasis on the IFA markets.
  • Endorsed Advisory Model Adoption – Adoption of best advice practices by advisors with emphasis on client experience outcomes.
  • Practice Management Strategy implementation: Implementation of best practice processes in accordance with the proprietary practice management frameworks aimed at developing quality advice practices and enhancing client experience.
  • Regional Marketing and Activation Events including the development of the Company’s brand.

 

This is a senior management role and the package on offer is commensurate with the seniority of the role.
