Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager to join their Finance Division. This role offers the chance to oversee group reporting, distribution channel management, and financial compliance. Reporting to the Group Finance Executive, you will be a strategic partner to the executive team and play a critical role in driving the organization’s financial excellence.


Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
Take ownership of group reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial management while acting as a strategic partner for the distribution channels.

General Duties:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports.
  • Present reports to executive members and committees.
  • Manage group and regulatory reporting, including income tax and VAT submissions.
  • Oversee internal controls and implement systems to mitigate risks in distribution channels.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Process and review monthly trial balances.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Approve daily payments and analyze supporting schedules in detail.
  • Prepare annual financial statements, notes, and accounting policies.
  • Create ad hoc reports and support the development of new products.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Act as a business partner for distribution channels.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a finance team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified CA(SA): Minimum 5 years of post-articles experience from a Big 4 firm.
  • Financial Services Expertise: Extensive experience in insurance, with specific knowledge of IFRS 17.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft suite and experience with Pastel and group consolidations.
