Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations:- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with statutory regulations.
- Manage the complexities of dual payroll systems, including fixed salaries and commission-based payments.
- Address ad hoc payments and special payroll arrangements with precision.
System and Process Management:
- Collaborate with S-Cubed to enhance payroll system functionality.
- Lead initiatives to transition manual payroll processes to streamlined, efficient workflows.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team comprising an Accountant and an Assistant Manager, ensuring accountability and high performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, detail orientation, and process discipline.
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to governance protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Handle SARS submissions, UIF compliance, and other statutory obligations with zero errors.
Process Improvement:
- Introduce structure and consistency to an unstructured payroll environment.
- Develop robust processes and controls for managing high volumes of manual and ad hoc payroll activities.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare payroll reports for senior management.
- Effectively communicate payroll policies and updates to employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Degree or diploma in Finance, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in payroll operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Hands-on experience with S-Cubed payroll systems is highly advantageous.
- Proven track record in process optimization and system enhancements.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
