Group Accountant

We are looking for a Group Accountant to join our amazing team! 

Duties: 

• Developing and maintaining relationships with allocated client, acting as their main point of contact for all financial matters.
• Understanding clients’ financial goals and objectives and providing tailored financial solutions and advice.
• Collaborating with client to gather and analyze financial information, including income, expenses, and investments.
• Managing client accounts and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and statements.
• Providing regular financial reports and updates to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and relevant laws.
• Identifying opportunities to maximize client profitability and recommending appropriate actions.
• Resolving client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborating with internal teams, such as tax specialists and auditors, to provide comprehensive financial services to clients.
• Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting practices, regulations, and industry trends.
• Actively seeking opportunities to grow the client base and generate new business for the firm.

Skills: 

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Draftworx) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• SARS and e-filing experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications: 

• A bachelor’s or honours degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years post articles experience
• Understanding of tax regulations and relevant laws.
• Must be registered with a recognised boards – SAIPA or SAICA
