Process excellence
- Collect and assess relevant contract documentation for estimates
- Obtain supplier and subcontractor prices for estimates.
- Assist in process optimisation with support
- Prepare and collating all non-price information and attributes
- Prepare pricing, quotations, and associated submission requirements for tender processes
- Support the due diligence process on tenders/pricing are to ensure that stated margin is practically achievable within industry norms and the prices are market related. An estimator manages the process until contract award and handover to operations.
- Provide clear and concise handovers of project information to the delivery team ensuring all relevant details are available to facilitate smooth delivery to the project plan
- Project site measurement / quantity verification ensuring project scope confirms with tendered allowables.
- Assist project execution team in preparation of variation order and site instruction pricing in line with the project’s specified conditions of contract.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Quality Assurance policies
- Assist to provide rates and estimate support as agreed by the Commercial Manager and Estimator
- Ensure continuous improvement of knowledge and skills by maintaining memberships with appropriate associations or organisations and ensuring knowledge of new industry method
Data & Reporting
- Record and accurately file tenders, quotations and estimates processed
- Ensure that the Company Data Management System is accurately updated and stored throughout each aspect of the project phases
- Assist in maintaining a client, supplier and materials library including new or modified contractor accreditation related information
- Reviewing the project estimate to ensure accuracy and maximise profitability
- Analyse and maintain records of tender and pricing statistics
- Obtain and monitor market movements, information, and pricing
Technology
- Utilise estimating and or cost management software to execute construction project costing
- Present summaries of requested information using presentation software
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using verbal and written communication platforms
Customer Service
- Liaise with project teams to develop a mutual understanding of expectations and establish desired levels of service to be delivered under prevailing contract conditions
- Provide consistent pricing/estimates that meets both internal requirements and external expectations
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with project teams through personal contact
- Maintain links and good relationships with industry organisations, suppliers, and subcontractors

Minimum Qualifications required
- BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- CCS Software
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years Access Scaffolding, Coatings and Insulation estimating in the Petrochemical, Mining, Energy or Paper and Pulp industries
