Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity to join the Finance division exists for a Finance Manager. The role requires a strong candidate who will look after the businesses Legal entity and has an understanding of IFRS 17 (PAA).  

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting Monthly Management Accounts to Executive head.
• Monthly processing,
• Handling regulatory reporting to the Prudential Authority and SARB.
• Reviewing of daily payments and detailed analysis of supporting schedules.
• Leading Junior Accountant staff in their weekly and monthly responsibilities. This includes reviewing their work when necessary.
• Preparing budgets and forecasts in conjunction with business units.
• Ensuring accounts are funded for payments to suppliers, dividend payments etc.
• Monthly processing and reviewing trial balances for completeness.
• Monthly preparing and review of balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Implementation of efficient ways/methods of providing monthly and periodic deliverables.
• Preparation of annual financial statements and notes, including accounting policies.
• Business unit expense reporting and critical variance analysis.
• Assisting with the annual audit.

Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified CA (SA)
• Microsoft suite
• Pastel is advantageous
• Minimum 4 years post articles work experience
• IFRS technical knowledge
• Knowledge of the insurance industry 
• Experience with IFRS 17 (especially PAA)
