Our client, operating in the Consultancy / Training space and based in Port Elizabeth, is looking to employ a Food Safety Consultant & Facilitator to their team.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in a food-related field such as Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology is essential.
  • GMP, HACCP, and FSMS (accredited).
  • An excellent understanding of Food Safety Systems such as FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA.
  • Food Safety Lead Auditor preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a food environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required, with the possibility of overnight stays. 
  • Must be able to communicate comfortably in English and Afrikaans.
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Develop detailed tailored project plans in line with project proposals for all implementation projects.
  • Manage the implementation projects to ensure that the project runs efficiently within the timelines and deliverables as per project proposal.
  • Develop, create, update and tailor compliance documents and checklists per project to ensure the documents are of a professional standard and will be practical for the client as well as meet the relevant compliance standard.
  • Conduct gap audits, internal audits, hygiene audits and readiness audits of a professional standard and ensure that reports are submitted within 5 working days from conducting the audit.
  • Prepare for, manage and facilitate training interventions to ensure that every intervention is of a professional standard, and that delegate feedback is positive.
  • Complete learner assessments according to the company’s assessment procedures and process. Ensure that all Portfolios and batch QMS are completed correctly and submitted within required timeframes.
  • Co-ordinate and plan the training and consulting schedule together with the Marketing and Sales Manager.
  • Liaise with the clients in advance to confirm planned consultations.
  • Account for billable time spent with clients by providing Client Contact Sheets per visit per client that will cross- reference to the Project Plan.
  • Assist with the estimation of consultation time required for implementation projects by analysing client checklists and master document list.
