Job Purpose

 

Provide operations with an efficient, professional engineering service that delivers a cost effective and competitive logistical infrastructure.  Manage assigned Tank Maintenance projects at Petrochemical Depots & Terminals from inception to commissioning, following Project Management Systems and the full Project Life Cycle.

What you’ll have done before:

 

Baseline:

 

  • NQF level 7 BSc (Mech) Engineering / B Tech Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in an Engineering capacity
  • SAP PM experience
  • Experience working with Petrochemical Tanks
  • Management of large vertical Fuel Storage Tank Maintenance Projects

 

Advantageous:

 

  • PR Registration with ECSA
  • Successful execution of multi-disciplinary Engineering Projects at Depots & Terminals

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

 

INFRASTRUCTURAL DESIGN

 

  • Tank repair Scope of Works compiled and signed off by the customer / business stakeholder,
  • Sign-off on tank designs and ensure systems operates as per design (including Automatic Tank Gauging & Firefighting),
  • Improve infrastructure efficiencies (including product swings, internal piping, Internal Floating Roof, Geodesic domes),
  • Ensure tank designs aligned to relevant codes and best practices (SANS/API/NFPA/ASME/etc.)

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

 

  • Finance Management,
  • Liaising with relevant Authorities (TNPA, Government, Local Municipality),
  • MOC management,
  • Produce and communicate project plans,
  • Successful management of approved funds with no over expenditure,
  • SAP experience,
  • Successful handover of Projects, QCP packs and “backup” support,
  • Tank design and repairs documented and meets requirements of customer/client and applicable Codes,
  • Contractor Management,
  • Project resources required to perform the works.

 

 

RISK MANAGEMENT

 

  • Tank Asset Integrity Projects executed safely and in compliance with all Engen HSEQ requirements,
  • MOC, HAZOP Studies, Risk Assessments etc. compiled and documented,

API653 tank and Asset Integrity inspections performed, and recommendations closed out.
