Job Details

A leading Footwear manufacturer is looking for an Assistant Store Manager who will help the store achieve sales budgets, and provide excellent customer service to every customer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

Customer Service & Sales

  • Acknowledge every customer within 30 seconds
  • Deliver excellent customer service to every customer by following customer service procedures
  • Establish your customer’s needs and use your technical knowledge to demonstrate benefits to meet those needs
  • Close the sale & secure add on sales
  • Invite your customers back & turn them into fans!
  • Monitor your daily sales against your individual budget every few hours
  • Assist the Manager in maximising sales through driving conversion

Inventory

  • Replenish footwear, apparel and accessories from the storeroom daily and ensure floor fully stocked up before closing.
  • Minimising shrinkage by zoning the store, acknowledging customers, and following the changing room policy
  • Ensure stock entries in the POS system are accurate
  • Process deliveries by checking quantities to invoices, tagging, hanging and pricing product, and recording in the POS system
  • Assist the team in weekly/monthly/quarterly stock take counts
  • Process customer orders

Daily Operations

  • Follow Operational Game Plan
  • Ensure store housekeeping is maintained daily including dusting, cleaning mirrors, sweeping, emptying bins, clearing counter area and tidying change rooms
  • Assist the manager with Open/Close the store
  • Assist the manager with cashing up daily and banking
  • Complete month end audit and all relevant paperwork.

Training and Team Management

  • Your training is your responsibility
  • You must attend the monthly/quarterly training sessions
  • Set up a monthly meeting with your Store Manager to discuss you progress through the Knowledge Pack
  • These are essential as they will determine your eligibility for promotion
  • Assist the manager in developing the team through regular Tech, Product, Customer Service, Loss Prevention, Podiatry and Sales Training

Merchandising

  • Observe the store & maintain stock presentation in accordance with brand standards
  • Ensure sizes are replenished
  • Ensure apparel is neatly folded or hung & that shoes a stacked by size
  • Assist the team to change the windows/mannequins every 2 weeks
  • Ensure POS materials are stored in an area to avoid damage

In the absence of the Store Manager you will have additional responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

  • Conduct the daily team meeting to ensure the team are aware of daily sales targets and provide support to achieve these targets
  • Ensure all team members are aware of their daily tasks
  • Ensure all team members are delivering excellent customer service to every customer by following the customer service procedures
  • Monitor the individual team members daily sales against their individual budget every few hours

Inventory

  • Ensure the team members are replenishing footwear, apparel and accessories from the storeroom daily and ensure floor fully stocked up before closing.
  • Ensure the team maintains the storeroom to brand standards

Daily Operations

  • Open/Close the store
  • Bank/Drop cash Takings
  • Complete rosters & allocate tasks
  • Analyse and explain variances in daily sales report
  • Where applicable complete weekly time sheets
  • Co-ordinate lunch breaks

Merchandising

  • Ensure the team maintain stock presentation in accordance with brand standards
  • Ensure the team have neatly folded or hung the apparel & that shoes are stacked by size

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outgoing determined self starter
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Solid retail experience
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales budgets
  • Good attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to driving and developing a team
