Job Details

Purpose – The Team is responsible for the delivery of Software Projects (New systems and changes), the second level support of those systems, and the governance of the processes by which the first two outcomes are achieved.  The leader of the team should ensure that these outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively, and that an appropriate strategy is maintained and implemented to ensure future delivery and improvement of these outcomes for the Group. 

 

Key Responsibility Area:

  • Provide input and is responsible for the development of the strategic plan for the team and the responsible IT areas.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the strategy
  • Provide direction, input and operational experience to all operational areas.
  • Ensure that all activities meet agreed service levels and operational targets
  • Manage the budget
  • Manage the performance and continuous improvement of the team operation to maintain the compnay as a market leader.
  • Oversee the selection, development and management of all staff to optimize performance.
  • Ensure that the responsiveness, consistency and quality of service provided by the team fully meets the needs of the internal customers with appropriate consideration of the needs of the external customers.
  • Manage and provide input to monthly and quarterly management reporting needs.
  • Actively participate in the IT Steering Committee, and IT Management Committee.

Experience Required:

  • A Relevant Tertiary Qualification is essential, Preferably a Degree in Engineering or Computer Related Fields.
  • Minimum of 9 to 15 years’ experience in Software development life cycle i.e. Business Analysis, IT Project Management and testing with a significant portion in oversight of a software delivery and execution function.
  • Financial Services experience essential;
  • Long term insurance experience is preferable; 
  • Experience with managing Agile Project methodologies
