Junior Accounts Payable Clerk (Life Insurance)

Purpose of position:

• Processing all invoices received for payment and ensuring that all creditors are paid in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Expense/payment activities:
• Processing of incoming payments and accounts
• Day to day financial transaction processing, including:
• Verifying, classifying, and recording of expenses
• Management of the approval process
• Preparation of payment packs
• Loading/amending of payments onto banking system.
• Tracking of outstanding payments
• Analysis of payment reports
• Preparation of and recording of payment journals
• SAGE experience preferable
• General accounting
• Data analysis
• Bank reconciliations
• Reporting of financial data and the relevant communication related to payments

Requirements:

• Matric (essential)
• BCom Financial Accounting degree (beneficial)
• Experience with SAGE (beneficial)
• Financial industry, especially long-term insurance industry, experience (beneficial)
• Microsoft Office proficiency (essential)
