Junior Actuarial Analyst / Data Scientist / Programmer

The purpose of this role is to provide support with reporting, monitoring and analysis of clients’ investment portfolios and the establishment and upkeep of the systems to support these and other functions. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider investment team, growing their skills to become an important member of the team.  The candidate should be keen to learn and develop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reports that include asset manager and portfolio returns, comparison against benchmarks, performance attribution, portfolio composition summaries and commentary.
• Assisting with the execution of investment instructions and rebalancing of client’s investment portfolios.
• Liaising with various asset managers and investment administrators.
• Monitoring fund managers compliance with mandates/benchmarks.
• Implement flexible data handling and reporting solutions.
• Design and develop automation processes/systems to collect, process, and integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse.
• Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing data validation, cleaning, and transformation procedures.
• Develop and maintain analytical models/systems.
• Ad hoc projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Numerically orientated degree, Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative management, or Computer Science.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience.
• Accuracy and superb attention to detail.
• Strong MS Excel and data analysis.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R or SQL.
• Thorough knowledge of data manipulation and management.
• Highly analytical.
• Proactive team player.
• Knowledge of external market systems such as Refinitiv will be an advantage.
