Job Details

The Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling broadcast and cinema gear to customers within the entertainment, media, and production industries. This role involves developing new business, nurturing existing client relationships, and meeting sales targets to achieve company growth objectives. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of broadcast and cine equipment, and will provide consultative sales support to professional clients in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Development:
  • Identify and target potential clients in the broadcast, cinema, and media production sectors (e.g., studios, production companies, rental houses).
  • Research and generate new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and lead generation.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet both short- and long-term revenue targets.
  • Manage and expand the companyâs customer base through proactive outreach and consistent follow-ups.

Product Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the companyâs portfolio of broadcast and cine equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and accessories.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor offerings.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultations to customers on product features, specifications, and best use cases for their production needs.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing product demonstrations, and offering solutions to meet their needs.
  • Offer ongoing support to ensure post-sale satisfaction, including troubleshooting and product training as necessary.

Sales Process Management:

  • Handle the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing the deal, and ensure a smooth process for customers.
  • Prepare and deliver professional product presentations, proposals, and quotes.
  • Negotiate prices and terms to close deals and ensure profitability.
  • Achieve and exceed sales quotas and performance metrics.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to adjust sales strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales activities and client interactions in the company CRM system.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance against targets.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and product development, to ensure alignment in meeting customer needs.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and product launches.

Training & Development:

  • Continuously develop product knowledge and sales skills through training, industry events, and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Strong sales experience
  • Industry experience = advantageous
  • National role â willing to travel
  • Valid drivers licence and own vehicle
  • Good English and Afrikaans
  • Driven by commission
