Job Details

Process excellence

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and forecasts for construction projects
  • Monitor progress and changes related to construction projects
  • Work closely with Operations Manager to support project delivery and overall success
  • Attend site visits and meetings to assess project progress and identity potential risks
  • Collect and assess relevant contract documentation for claims, budgets, estimates
  • Obtain supplier and subcontractor prices for estimates
  • Prepare and collating all non-price information and attributes
  • Prepare pricing, quotations, and associated submission requirements for tender processes
  • Support the due diligence process on tenders/pricing are to ensure that stated margin will be achieved and that the prices are market related
  • Provide clear and concise handovers of project information to the delivery team ensuring all relevant details are available to facilitate smooth delivery of the project plan
  • Monitor priced work expenditure in accordance with the quoted price, discuss and provide variations with the client and project management and provide pricing accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Quality Assurance policies
  • Assist CMS to provide measuring tasks as agreed by the Operations Manager
  • Ensure continuous improvement of knowledge and skills by maintaining memberships with appropriate associations or organisations and ensuring knowledge of new industry methods

Data and reporting

  • Collect and analyse data related to construction projects, including material costs, labour costs, and other expenses
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project costs and expenses, and site visits
  • Record and accurately file tenders, quotations, claims and estimates processed
  • Ensure that the Company Data Management System is accurately updated and stored throughout each aspect of the project phases. This includes all site information, dims, photos, sub-contractor payment records etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a client, supplier and materials library including new or modified contractor accreditation related information
  • Track any changes made to the construction project and adjust budget projections accordingly
  • Obtain and monitor market movements, information, and pricing
  • Prepare final reports and documentation related to project costs and expenses

Technology

  • Utilise cost management software, including CCS, WinQs, and Smartsheet, to execute construction project costing
  • Present summaries of requested information using presentation software
  • Assist relevant administrators to maintain records on the contractor accreditation database
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using verbal and written communication platforms

Customer service

  • Liaise frequently with project team such as site managers, projects managers and site engineers to ensure that projects are completed within budget and to high standards
  • Provide consistent pricing/estimates/ bills of quantities/claims that meets both internal requirements and external expectations
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients through personal contact to improve current contract performance and maximise the possibility of securing future profitable work
  • Provide frequent projects updates to stakeholders, including expected or unexpected changes, or any potential risks or areas of improvement
  • Support Operations Manager to adhere to desired expectations and service level agreement
  • Maintain links and good relationships with industry organisations, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Improve CMS delivery of services by providing relevant information, technological advancement or process which may assist CMS in developing the business or achieving better financial results

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • BTech/BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years in a construction related trade with 1 year quantity surveying or estimating experience
