Quality Assurance and Lab Technician

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND LABORATORY TECHINICIAN

We are on the lookout for an individual who demonstrates passion for quality assurance and takes a keen interest in the attention to detail of laboratory testing.

Our newest member to our growing QA and Lab team will be responsible for servicing enquiries from all divisions of our business and form part of an innovative operations team that understands the importance of supplying on time with the best quality that speaks to our global standards.

Deliverance in our operations team is second nature. We require an independent thinker that is able to grasp onto processes quickly and demonstrates a clear understating of a manufacturing environment.

As a Quality Assurance (Q.A) and Lab Technician you will fulfil our internal mantra of collaboration, respect, openness, clear communication and it goes without saying . . . fulfilling our business goals. Your ability to prioritise enquiries and deal with the unpredictability of influx of requests whilst servicing the different divisions will be your key to success.

A guideline of your daily tasks will include(including but not limited to):

 Daily testing and final inspections – process testing and verification to ensure product conformity that meets customer standards.
 Tensile testing, interpreting information and data analysis. Reporting inconsistencies and deviations from quality standard.
 Generating of certifications such as COE`s for nonwoven and fibre extrusion lines.
 Quality assurance in automotive sheeting department, to ensure correct dimensions are captured.
 Capability studies on automotive batches and certifications.
 In process verifications, first off and process measurements.
 Ensure that ISO9000 standards are met and maintained and the necessary teams are well informed of requirements and audits.
 Work closely with production team in terms of quality requirements and assist with data required for making the necessary changes for processing.
 Maintain product specifications according to ISO9000 requirements
 Movement of trial roles with the use of a forklift for compiling rolls for product development
 Assist with Health and Safety compliance and audits and maintenance of fire equipment and first aid boxes.

Qualifications and Experience

 Diploma or equivalent in Textile Science and Technology
 3 – 5 Years in the nonwoven manufacturing industry or similar
 Experience with ISO14001 requirements and knowledge would be advantageous
 Forklift license would be advantageous
 Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
 Experience and understanding with XAL/AX system or similar ERP system such as SAP

Preferably, you reside in Hammarsdale/Cato Ridge/Pinetown/Kloof or Hillcrest area and have reliable transport.
