Job Details

SHERQ

  • Lead YOUR direct team to meet company SHERQ strategy and goals.
  • Promote behavioural safety at all levels in the business
  • Oversee and ensure unsafe assets or tools are not used during operations.
  • Shall be accountable for all Supervisors who are responsible for the compiling of Risk Assessments.
  • Shall be responsible to obtain approved tool and equipment lists of all own and hired equipment from SASOL Security

Operations

  • Plan resources effectively to ensure scoped work is executed according to work pack parameters, whilst optimizing human resources and operational assets.
  • Monitor work for quality assurance and ensure related control systems are in place.
  • Ensure individual Team productivity targets are achieved.
  • Shall ensure that detailed Site/Daily Diaries and Timesheets are kept and approved by the relevant SASOL Representative. The Daily Diary and timesheets must be created on the same day and approved before the end of the shift during normal working hours or within the following day shift for after hour claims
  • Shall be full time on site and every day at the Operations Units, the area of responsibility.

Human Capital

  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to the Performance Management System to build a high-performance culture within the organisation in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Train and develop staff (guidance, mentoring, formal training)
  • Ensure adherence to Employee Relations principles and participate in ER matters where required
  • Shall be accountable for all Supervisors who are responsible for all supervision over all Work that is being executed during the Agreement period.
  • Shall be accountable for all Supervisors who are responsible for the compiling of Risk Assessments.
  • Shall be accountable for the QA/QC who will be responsible for having approved and signed Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Item Lists for all applicable jobs.
  • Shall be accountable for the Supervisors who will be responsible for having a Handover and Inspection Certificate for each scaffold build.

Transformation

  • Ensure the attraction and selection of top calibre EE candidates in line with targets.
  • Accelerate the development of key EE personnel for promotion and succession planning.
  • Contribute towards the achievement of the BBBEE targets (Scorecard)

Data and reporting

  • Ensure on-time work completion and invoicing within 30 days
  • Ensure accurate scope vs work done
  • Optimise monthly revenue by claiming accurate and applicable work completion.
  • Manage costs and operating expenses to deliver planned profit margins
  • Attend daily and weekly client meetings, ensuring accurate feedback on work status
  • Shall be responsible for updating and submitting the Progress Report on a weekly basis.
  • Shall ensure that Job Cards for completed work are signed-off at the relevant Planners Office to enable the Planners to do the necessary confirmations on SAP (including sign¬ off during Shutdowns/SMOP/GO activities).
  • Conduct people management administration such as leave, acting appointments and other processes
  • Shall always ensure adherence to Standards and Specifications as specified above.
  • Shall be accountable for the correct documentation attached to the PO and Job Cost Confirmation (JCC) packs as per SASOL Procedure. No changes will be allowed on these documents.
  • Shall be accountable for correct monthly invoicing of all Work performed and signed off by SASOL, in accordance with the agreed Unit Rates.
  • Shall ensure that the necessary administration support is provided to enable adequate document control, prompt and correct JCE calculations and submission of JCC packs.
  • Shall always ensure adherence to Standards and Specifications as specified above.
  • Ensure job confirmation on Sasol K2 system

Technology

  • Monitor to ensure responsible use and care of all client facilities and equipment
  • Oversee the maintenance of operational assets such cleanliness of vehicles and other assets
  • Oversee technical scaffold, painting & coating and insulation equipment in line with best practice.
  • Utilise technologies that enable work at height or in smaller enclosed spaces.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using verbal and written communication platforms

Customer service

  • Ensure adherence to work schedules, completing work on time
  • Shall be responsible to do the planning of Work to be executed.
  • Shall be responsible to adhere to the SASOL Work Management System (SGI-MOR- 000041 for Secunda Site
  • Promote staff awareness and understanding of performance expectations to ensure contracts are serviced according to scope and specifications.
  • Attend daily and weekly client meetings, ensuring accurate feedback on work status
  • Support and service clients by satisfactorily resolving complaints at the lowest level
  • Ensure harmonious relations in the Secunda division with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively develop business relationships to pursue work outside of current maintenance contract
  • Shall attend or be duly represented at all Progress Meetings and ensuring accurate feedback:
    • PDR Meeting at the various SASOL Business Units
    • AIP HUB PDR (in areas where there is a HUB)
    • Shutdowns/SMOP/GO Progress Meetings
    • Shutdown validation meetings
    • Management Safety plant walks

Education / Accreditation

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification preferred

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Petro chemical environment
  • Demonstrated project management of significant projects
  • Proven leadership and communication track record in line management roles
