Supply Chain Planner

About the Job

In this role, you will evaluate stock levels of various raw materials and components, ensuring the Production Department has everything required to produce finished goods on demand. You will play a critical role in maintaining supply chain efficiency, forecasting needs, and coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely replenishment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation of our production processes and ensure customer satisfaction by meeting product availability targets.

Regularly assess stock levels of raw materials and inventory items to identify potential shortages or surpluses. Analyse production schedules and historical data to forecast material requirements accurately. Liaise with the procurement clerks to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and address any changes in demand. Place purchase orders for materials based on production needs and monitor their progress to ensure on-time delivery. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate records of stock levels, supplier performance, and material usage trends for decision-making purposes. Work closely with the Demand Planner to ensure alignment on material availability and production schedules. Identify and communicate potential bottlenecks in the supply chain to maintain continuous production flow

• Have the ability to grasp basic supply chain/planning principles 

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

1. BCom Logistics (preferably Stellenbosch university)
2. Graduate / 1-2 years experience
3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with high attention to detail
5. Excellent written and communication skills
6. Computer literate MS Office, Word/Excel/Power Point (specifically excel)
