Job Details
As a Visual Merchandising Specialist, you will be responsible for managing store operations, ensuring our potted plants and related products are presented attractively and effectively, and meeting client specifications.
You will work closely with store teams to optimize product placement, drive sales performance, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our client’s customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Management:
- Work in conjunction with account manager to ensure optimal performance in each store.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of retail stores, ensuring they align with company standards and client expectations.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Monitor store performance and make data-driven decisions to improve sales and profitability for both Stores.
Merchandising and Visual Presentation:
- Design and execute compelling visual displays for potted plants and related products to attract customers and drive sales.
- Ensure that all merchandise is properly tagged, priced, and presented according to company guidelines and client specifications.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess and maintain the quality and appeal of product displays.
Client and Vendor Relations:
- Collaborate with clients and account manager to understand their specific merchandising requirements and preferences.
- Liaise with account manager & sales manager to source high-quality potted plants and related products that meet client and company standards.
- Address and resolve any client concerns or feedback related to merchandise and store presentation.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Motivate and influence store teams to ensure high levels of performance and customer service.
- Train store staff on merchandising techniques, product knowledge.
- Training of merchandisers and promotors in plant care, visual display techniques, point of sale, key unique selling points.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of potted plants and related products.
- Implement effective stock control procedures to minimize loss and maximize sales.
- Manage aged stock levels to ensure new orders can be replenished without delay
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and in line with ad-hoc promotions.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, merchandising effectiveness, and client satisfaction.
- Evaluate store teams performance and provide feedback during reporting cycle, identify concerns and include suggestions for improvement
- Analyse sales and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Be aware of competitor products and activities and report back
- Develop and implement action plans based on report findings and business objectives.
- Weekly merchandising reports with photos (before and after)
Knowledge, experience and personal competencies
- Matric
- Ideally: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent leadership, communication, conflict management and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stores and meet client requirements effectively.
- Proficiency in using retail management software and tools for inventory and sales analysis.
- Passion for plants and a strong knowledge of potted plant varieties and care. (preferable)
