We are seeking a Carer Supervisor (Day Shift) to join our prestigious healthcare team at our facility within the Southern Suburbs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and inspire our Carer Team to deliver outstanding physical, social, and emotional support to all residents/patients. 
  • Support and guide the team to achieve daily performance goals.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Provide training to both new and current staff 
  • Identify training needs within the department
  • Ensures that internal procedural training plan is up to date
  • Oversee smooth and efficient daily operations.
  • Ensure staff are presentable and well groomed at all times, this would include ensuring staff are wearing correct uniforms
  • Plan and prepare employee work schedules for every day operations according to patient/resident care plans
  • Ensure that records of carer tasks completed are up to date and readily available
  • Assist with the weekly checklist of the patient bells and panic buttons
  • Conduct daily morning briefings to discuss workflow, staff allocation, communicate expectations and to address any arising matters
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for residents/patients.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Engage with carer staff to address performance and personnel related matters 
  • Conduct quality checks to maintain a supportive environment for residents/patients.
  • Report concerns to management and assist with department administration.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new carers, ensuring they meet facility standards.
  • Assist the manager with staff probation meetings
  • Assist manager in evaluating employee performance and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions.
  • Orientate new staff members to the role and facility

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • Grade 12 
  • Carer training is advantageous

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role 
  • Experience within a hospital or clinical setting would be advantageous 
  • Precise and reliable reporting

Additional Requirements:

  • Clear health, criminal, and credit records.
  • Contactable references.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts as operationally required. 
  • Flexibility to attend to the night shift when required to complete tasks such as probation reviews, training, disciplinary matters etc.
