A dynamic, vibrant and growing cosmetics business is looking for a Planning & Procurement Manager in the Production department who will manage MRP (Materials requirements planning) and the purchasing process to ensure that the required service level and inventory targets are met and maintained. They will monitor processes and procedures in the department to ensure they are effective and make recommendations for improvements if/ when necessary, engaging with various stakeholders with respect to the planning and procurement processes, facilitating, fostering and growing professional and healthy business relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers. The successful candidate will support new product development by managing the procurement process and ensure projects are delivered on time. They will manage and support the procurement department in their tactical and systemic planning activities, problem solving and decision making, and will lead, develop and mentor the department with regards to professional as well as personal growth though day to day interaction, as well as through a formal performance review process.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Able to identify problems/concerns with execution of a duties and inform relevant parties
- Able to negotiate with Suppliers whilst maintaining good working relationships
- Be able to forecast based on analytics, sales trends and knowledge of product life cycle
- Able to delegate and follow up, convince and lead in order to meet business deliverables
- implement the company values and culture in the execution of duties and through interactions with all
- Able to compile and give feedback in a professional format to Senior Executives
- Able to investigate and execute appropriate disciplinary, performance and motivational measures in line with People Support policies
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in FMCG, cosmetics/personal care or retail (non-corporate / SME preferable)
- BCom Logistics (Hons advantageous) or equivalent – APICS qualification a bonus
- Knowledge of supply chain and operations best practices, GMP, ISO-22716 advantageous
- Knowledge of Six-Sigma methodology and Lean Manufacturing methodologies / Manufacturing experience advantageous
- Strong Leadership and Analytical skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Computer proficient MS Office, Word/Excel/Power Point
- Previous experience using a formal ERP/MRP system
