Role Summary

We are seeking to expand our Procurement department with a detail-oriented and organised individual in the Procurement Administrator role. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Procurement Administrator is responsible for assisting in the various supplier purchasing activities for this company. This role ensures that procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and comply with company policies and procedures. The Procurement Administrator works closely with the Procurement Manager; Internal departments, Suppliers and other stakeholders to meet the organisation’s procurement needs.

What you will be doing?

  • Initiate the ordering process for selected stock ranges and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Assist with procurement and stock-related queries, such as stock availability, expiration dates, and obtaining COA (certificate of analysis) paperwork.
  • Continuously monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Assist in preparing routine procurement reports for management review.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including order requisitions and supplier communications
  • Assist with coordinating shipping and logistics for incoming shipments in conjunction with the Procurement Manager and Logistics Administrator.
  • Monitor allocated supplier(s) performance and raise any areas of concern or discrepancies.
  • Assist with general administrative functions required in the procurement department.

 

To be successful you will ideally need

  • Matric with Pure Mathematics and Life Science (essential)
  • Post-matric qualification and/or certification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in a procurement / supply chain and role
  • Fully proficient in MS Office
  • Previous experience working with an ERP or CRM software platform
  • Strong time management and planning skills and able to prioritize in a flexible manner
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • Works effectively in a team environment to the benefit of the organisation
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
