Project Lead Engineer

Qualification requirement: BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering

Roles & responsibilities that will be performed in Project Lead Engineer position:

• Engineering design
• Oversee manufacture of designs
• Commission systems and/or equipment on site
• Develop maintenance strategies for systems and/or equipment
• Review of designs within engineering team
• Training and mentoring of young engineers
• Client engagement
• Project development and initialisation
• Project budgeting and costing
• Draw up and manage project plans
• Lead and/or oversee site work
• Will require travelling from time to time
• Full-time position working from the office in Atlantis, Western Cape

Required skills:

• Practical and hands-on engineering abilities
• Mechanical engineering design
• Proficiency in the use of MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Good people skills
• Ability to teach/train team members
• Ability to work well in a technical team
• Ability to lead a technical team
• Ability to work in a well-structured and organised manner
• Good prioritisation skills
• Resilience
• Professional written and spoken communication skills in English
• Professional written and spoken communication skills in Afrikaans would be beneficial

Required experience:

• Minimum of 8 years engineering experience in the mechanical engineering or energy industry
• 2 years’ experience in senior engineering or management position
• Familiarity with or experience in the bio-gas industry would be beneficial
