We are a leading mid- to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites for companies from around the globe.

Job Purpose:

To oversee and examine production outputs to ensure that they conform to specifications and internal company standards as set out by the company.  

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:

Inspections

  • Schedule and perform inspections on production activities.
  • Prepare inspection checklists for key and mandatory inspection points
  • Sign off mandatory inspection points to ensure that all assembly procedures and processes are adhered to.
  • Review of incoming goods from suppliers and documentation such as certificate of conformity, test reports and material certificates.
  • Complete and populate production inspection registers.
  • Log and track non-conformances within the production process.
  • Perform first article inspections on new components delivered by new suppliers.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and rejections.
  • Complete rejection notes and register the rejections on the Wrike system.
  • Complete the quarantine list and follow up to remove items from the list.
  • Ensure product reworks are performed and tracked on the Wrike system.
  • Record and track scrap yield.

Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure Five-S workplace improvement and organisation is maintained throughout the production process.
  • Ensure housekeeping workplace cleanliness is maintained by the production team.

 

 

Required Qualification:

  • Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Controller in a high-tech organisation

Recommendations:

  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and ECSS standards will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Simens Teamcenter.

Competencies:

Technical competencies required for the role:

  • Read and understand drawings and specification documents.
  • MS Office and computer literate
  • A good knowledge and experience of ISO9001 and the functioning of the Quality Management System.
  • Knowledge of configuration system.
  • Have a good knowledge of Institute for Printed Circuit Board (IPC) standards with respect to Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Good communication and administrative skills
