Senior Business Systems Developer – Contract

A specialised Technology and Business solutions company is looking for a Senior Business Systems Developer to develop apps that extend Business Central. This can include creating new modules and modifying existing modules. The developer can add new business logic or change existing business logic by using events. A developer also makes it possible to integrate Business Central with other applications, including Microsoft Power Platform products.  

Business Central developers are responsible for troubleshooting and debugging issues in the system. This may involve identifying the root cause of a problem, fixing bugs, and testing the solution to ensure it works as expected. Business Central developers may be required to optimize the performance of the system by identifying bottlenecks and improving code quality. Business Central developers are responsible for upgrading the system, migrating data, and maintaining the system to ensure it remains up to date and secure. 

For this role the successful candidate will join our international team embedded in one of our key clients that we have built a vertical extension for the post-graduate financial training industry. We work remotely withother teams based in the UK and India. They will need to learn the company’s change control, documentation processes, and to comply with strict ISO, SOX, and Data Protection controls. Atypical day would include scrum ceremonies, stakeholder meetings, working from google documents, Microsoft Azure DevOps, and being pro-active in delivering their workstack.  

This position requires someone experienced in teamwork, technical skills, quality documentation, and, essentially, effective communication – this is a more senior role. 
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO: 

• Provide a hands-on development approach to the Software deployment throughout clients’ sites 
• Design, develop and maintain integration functions into existing platforms within the Business 
• Assist with implementing new functionality and software upgrading 
• Support end users with the system across all subsidiaries 
• Ensure that the needs of users are met in accordance with service level agreements 
• Take responsibility for highlighting areas of inadequacy and proposing steps for improvement 
• Assist in moving clients to Business Central (Cloud)  

REQUIREMENTS: 

• IT Degree or BTECH, if diploma then supplement qualifications to be explained 
• “Business Systems Developer” related certifications 
• Microsoft Certifications, what have you?  

Preferred Skills: 

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV / Navision 
• SQL or any database development 
• IT process/framework (e.g. DevOps)
• Technically minded, with a financial background 
• Experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software
